The Socotri Women’s Foundation for Response and Development honored a number of its members on Sunday evening at its headquarters in Hadibu, the capital, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which falls on the 8th of March each year.
In a speech during the honoring ceremony, the Foundation’s President, Ms. Najwa Al-Asaadi, congratulated women in general and Socotri women in particular on their international day, which is an opportunity to express our pride and appreciation for women and their struggle and pioneering role in society, whether as ideal mothers or ideal employees.
She emphasized the importance of providing women with more care and attention, and empowering them with all their rights, as they constitute half of society and raise the other half. She is also a partner with men in achieving development and decision-making.
She pointed out that this honoring comes in appreciation of the efforts of the honorees in the success of the Foundation’s work and their dedication to serving the Socotri community in various fields
