The president of the Socotri Women's Foundation for Response and Development, visited the Shihr Book Fair,
where she was warmly welcomed by the Executive Director of the Al Amal Women's Foundation, Mr. Wajdan Sahalil, and the Board Member of the Youth Care Foundation, Mr. Fouad Alau.
Al-Asaadi toured the various sections of the fair, which showcased a diverse range of cultural heritage from the region and Yemen as a whole.
This heritage, which the younger generation lacks, not only in Shihr but across Yemen, due to the impact of the digital age, made this fair particularly significant in reviving the cultural vibrancy of the district.
Al-Asaadi listened to a detailed explanation of the Youth Care Foundation's role in organizing the fair with the aim of revitalizing the cultural life of the region.
In a statement, Al-Asaadi expressed her delight at what she saw at the fair and commended the Foundation's efforts to revive local culture.
As part of her visit, Al-Asaadi also visited the Al Amal Women's Foundation, where she learned about the various vocational activities undertaken by the foundation, including training courses for women in soap making, as well as professional courses such as hairdressing, tailoring, literacy classes, and more. Al-Asaadi expressed keen interest in the possibility of a future partnership between the Socotri Women's Foundation and the Al Amal Foundation to support these development initiatives.
